Music Ministries
CHILDREN'S CHOIR - The Stonybrook Kids of the Kingdom children's choir welcomes all K-5th graders excited to sing about Jesus. Our mission is to sing songs that will remain in their hearts and fuel their love for others. The choir sings approximately once a month at the 9:30 am service and often participates in special events. We meet on Wednesdays during the school year at 6:00 pm for ½ hour. events. Come join us!

CHANCEL CHOIR - Meets Wednesdays at 7:30 until 8:45 pm late August through May. Called Stonybrook's largest small group, the Chancel Choir plays an integral role in learning, singing and traditional worship at the 8:00 am and the 9:30 am celebrations.

PRAISE BAND- The praise band leads the Contemporary Worship music at 11:00 am each week. They are a passionate and devoted group that strives to connect people with the presence of God and leads music with a modern approach.

SANCTUARY BELLS - Sanctuary Bells ring at traditional worship services monthly, along with special performances at Christmas and Easter, using our 4-octave sets of handbells and handchimes. Previous handbell ringing experience is not necessary, but helpful, and music reading is required. Members are able to join the group on a month-by-month basis if needed. We meet on Wednesdays at 6:15-7:15 pm in the Sanctuary, late August through May.

Children’s Ministries
Stonybrook Kids (SBK) is the children’s ministry of Stonybrook church. This ministry is the starting point for the youngest of God’s family to begin building a foundation of faith. This foundation will guide their hearts, minds, and actions through their life as they learn to love like Jesus. All children 6 weeks through 3rd grade are welcome to experience the fun and love in SBK!
Stonybrook church supports children learning in age-appropriate classrooms and seeks to provide an environment tailored to meet their spiritual developmental milestones unique to each age. All volunteers interested in volunteering in the Children’s ministry must submit an application, have a back-ground check, and participate in Safe Sanctuaries training.

WEE WALKERS INFANT AND TODDLER MINISTRY - Children 6 weeks through 2 years receive care in a loving and safe environment with toys specifically designed for play at this age. Children will benefit from loving adult and youth volunteers who will rock, read to, and create a stimulating environment for God’s youngest children.
CHILDREN’S SMALL GROUPS, 9:30 AM - Stonybrook church offers engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities that support the learning of scripture and Christian values in a loving environment that supports relationship building with each other and Jesus. Two small groups are available: for ages Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten through 3rd grade. Time required 1 hour plus time in lesson review.
STORY AND PRAISE - At 11:00 am, children ages 3 years through 3rd grade begin worship with their family. After the Children’s moment are excused for a Bible story and activity, then return to participate in communion with their family. Time requirement: 1 hour plus time in lesson review.
VOLUNTEERS - Are invited to help with the above classes through pre-class lesson preparation every 2 months (2 – 4 hours), bulletin board updating (1 hour per month), and being extra hands and hearts in a small group (most beneficially 1 hour in class, 2 times per quarter).
SUNDAY MORNING GREETER -Create a warm and inviting atmosphere for children and parents with a smile and welcoming word. Assist with the simple, secure check-in, providing identification for each child, at the lower-level main entrance prior to the 9:30 am hour. This requires a time commitment of 30 minutes.
FANTASTIC FRIDAY VOLUNTEER -Give parents a night out while having fun with the kids, two times in the fall and spring. Help prep for this evening of Bible story, game, and art for children 4 years through 3rd grade. Time required, 2 hours/ one event.
LARGE EVENT AND VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL VOLUNTEER -Throughout the year, events such as Trunk R Treat, Easter Eggs-travaganza, Christmas Play welcome volunteers to help with background prep, decoration crew, and station leaders. Extra hands make these experiences memorable for the children! Vacation Bible School opportunities are available for adult and older youth station leaders, classroom assistants, crew leaders, and decoration team. Time required is variable from 1 hour to 10 hours, depending.
YOUTH MINISTRY
The spiritual growth of children and youth is a Stonybrook priority. Stonybrook Youth (SBY) offers mission opportunities, programs, and small group options for grades 4-12, as participants learn how to love God, love others, and serve the world.

SUNDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY - Students meet to study scripture, pray, and learn what it means to live their faith in a contemporary world.
The Bridge (4th – 5th grade) meets Sundays at 9:30 am in Room 121 SBY (6th– 12th Grade) meets Sundays at 9:30 am in Room 102.
SUNDAY AFTERNOON YOUTH PROGRAM -The Sunday Afternoon Youth group for The Bridge and SBY meets to study, worship, and fellowship together.

HOSPITALITY MINISTRY

COMMUNION STEWARDS AND SERVERS - Holy Communion is served monthly at the 8:00 am and 9:30 am worship services, and weekly at the 11:00 am worship service. This team prepares the elements for Holy Communion. Additionally, team members serve the communion elements during the worship service. OFFERING COUNTERS - The Offering Counters provide valuable support to the financial well-being of Stonybrook Church. Counters are a necessary component of each service by collecting and tabulating the financial offerings. At least two counters are needed for each week. USHERS - Ushers provide bulletins, greet people, and assist as needed. They pass the offering plate during worship and help with the communion procession. GREETERS - Greeters are the first friendly faces to meet and welcome people who enter the building for services and special events. The greeters are available to answer questions, lend guidance, and give direction when needed. Greeters serve at the 8:00 am, 9:30 am, and 11:00 am worship services, as well as special events. WELCOME CENTER - The welcome center hosts work at the Welcome Center desk in the lobby of the church. These individuals answer questions, give directions, and help people feel comfortable and informed. Contact: Erin Southern at ebin614@aol.com.
COFFEE MINISTRY - The coffee ministry offers beverages and snacks in Wesley Cafe between worship services. This team provides hospitality for those who have gathered for fellowship before or after one of the Sunday worship services. Teams of two serve quarterly, and there is always a need for extra hands. ONLINE WORSHIP HOSTS - Online worship hosts are responsible for greeting and welcoming worshippers on Facebook and YouTube as the worship service is live-streamed (9:30 am and 11 am). Hosts will offer greetings, interact with worshippers, and post links as directed by church staff. The online worship host can fulfill this role in any location – at home, away, or even while worshipping in the sanctuary or Wesley Hall! Contact Erin Southern @ ebin614@aol.com.
PRODUCTION MINISTRY
The production ministry at Stonybrook utilizes lighting, sound, and screen graphics to enhance and amplify the mission of the church. This ministry supports worship, weddings, funerals, and events through live in-house production and live streaming production. There are a variety of opportunities to serve with little to no knowledge or experience required. Contact: Garrett Keener at garrett.keener@stonybrook.church.
Selects the on-screen graphics from a cue sheet during worship and occasional events. Positions are available for the 8:00 am, 9:30 am, and 11:00 am services. No prior knowledge or experience is required for this position.
LIGHTING OPERATORS - Lighting operators select lighting scenes from a cue sheet during worship. Positions are available for the 11:00 am worship service. No prior knowledge or experience is required for this position. Contact: Garrett Keener at garrett.keener@stonybrook.church.
ASSISTANT SOUND TECHNICIANS - Assistant Sound Technicians work closely with the Sound Technician to prepare, test, and operate sound equipment for services and occasional events. Positions are available for the 8:00 am, 9:30 am, and 11:00 am worship services. No prior knowledge or experience is required for this position.
CAMERA OPERATORS - Camera Operators run cameras on Sunday mornings and occasional events for the live streaming ministry. Camera operators serve every other week at either the 9:30 am or 11:00 am service. No experience is necessary.
ASSISTANT TECHNICAL DIRECTORS - Assistant Technical Directors serve on Sunday mornings by running the video switcher under the direction of the Technical Director for the live-streamed worship services. Experience in Stonybrook's Broadcast Ministry is required, and training is available.
Altar Design Team
The Visual Display Team works with the pastoral staff to design and implement the theme and liturgical elements for the traditional worship services. Fabric, floral, and decorative arts are combined to create a visual setting to enhance the total worship experience. Contact: Pastor David Hoffman at david.hoffman@stonybrook.church.
Wesley Visual Team
The Wesley Visual Team works with the staff to design and implement the theme and liturgical elements for the contemporary worship services. Lighting, fabric, floral, and decorative arts are combined to create a visual setting to enhance the total worship experience.
